Projects

Our primary focus began in literacy, technology, and arts education. Teaching the technological and English skills common for success in a developing workplace and encouraging creative expression empowers our students with the tools they need to uplift themselves and their communities in a quickly-developing environment.

We soon realized that in order to fulfill our mission, we must grow organically with our community’s needs. Despite being the second-most populated area in Uganda, there are no existing extracurricular education programs in Gulu. Starting in January 2016, we have filled that gap with our Youth Literacy Program, which provides weekend and after-school classes to 77 local children.

We soon realized there was another gap that needed to be filled- in menstrual education for girls and women. In May 2017, we started our women’s health program, Girl Power Gulu, and are excited to expand and develop alongside the local community.
